    Version 0.3.2

    New Features

    • Teapodo now has the first built-in effect: Compressor.
      • The Compressor can be found in the effect list.
      • More built-in effects will be added in the coming releases.
    • Effects can now be reordered by drag and drop.
      • An effect can be drag-and-dropped into any effect slots on any tracks, including the master track.
    • VST3/AU plugins are now scanned automatically when Teapodo launches.
    • Teapodo's footer area is now used to display messages when certain event happens, e.g. when finish recording/exporting, or while importing.
    • Tooltips are now available in certain buttons and areas.

    Issues Fixed

    • Fixed an issue where Teapodo may crash during exporting the project if there is only one chapter.
    • Fixed an issue where the master waveform may appear to be delayed by 256 samples.
    • Fixed an issue where master track effects may be retained by mistake when creating a new project.
    • Adding chapters now require Cmd+Click (on macOS) or Ctrl+Click (on Windows).
      • Previously, adding chapters only required a click, and we have received feedbacks that it was easy to accidentally add a chapter.

    Version 0.3.1

    New Features

    • Add support for filtering plugins by name.
    • A master track is now available.
      • The master track can be used to monitor the master output of the whole project, as well as controlling the gain of the master output.
      • Audio effects can also be applied to the master track. These effects are processed lastly in the signal chain.
      • The master track also displays the master output waveform, which can be useful to monitor the final output of the project after mixing and applying effects.

    Issues Fixed

    • Fixed an issue where the plugin selection window remains open even after the application's main window is closed.
    • Associated windows such as "Export", "About", "Preference", "Select Plugin" can now be closed by the common keyboard shortcuts.

    Version 0.3.0

    New Features

    • Teapodo now supports adding audio effects to tracks by mounting VST3 (Windows and macOS) and AudioUnit (macOS) plugins.
      • Plugins will be scanned from the standard system locations, such as:
        • VST3 on Windows: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3.
        • VST3 on macOS: /Library/Audio/Plug-ins/VST3.
        • AudioUnit on macOS: The system AudioUnit registry.
    • Teapodo for Windows now has an installer.

    Issues Fixed

    • Fixed an issue where the exported audio may be empty if the export happens right after changing audio input/output devices.
    • Fixed a minor issue in the UI when a project is drag-and-dropped to Teapodo.

    What's Next

    In future releases, we will continue to improve audio plugin support in Teapodo. To list a few features in the works:

    • Adding more effects on a track, as well as reordering effects.
    • Adding effects to the master output.
    • Undo/redo of mounting/unmounting plugins.
    • Undo/redo of plugin parameter changes.
    • Adding custom plugin search paths.

    Version 0.2.3

    New Features

    • Tracks can now be moved up or down in the project.
    • A new track can now also be created using the context menus of a track header.
      • Where a new track can be either inserted above or below the current track.
    • A supported audio file can now be imported to a specific position of a track with drag and drop.
      • Teapodo currently supports WAV and MP3 files.
    • "Recent Projects" has been added in the "File" menu.
      • Up to 10 most recent projects can now be quickly accessed from this menu.
      • Also, a new "Reopen Last Project" menu is added.

    Issues Fixed

    • Fixed an issue where audio files with uppercase file extensions may be incorrectly rejected when being imported.

    Issues Fixed

    • Audio region selection now correctly follows the time scale of the project.
    • Zooming in and out in certain positions now works as expected.
    • Fixed an issue where some of the adjustments to clips are not immediately reflected in the audio.
    • Track and master gain are now correctly applied when the project is exported.
    • A muted track no longer produces a very small amplitude (it's now completely silent).
    • The current project of Teapodo is no longer updated when an opened project is failed to be loaded.
    • Fixed a possible crash when fade-in/fade-out duration is zero.

    Known Issues

    • On Windows, using a fractional scaling factor (e.g. 125%, 150%, 225%, etc.) in display settings may result in visual artifacts in Teapodo. This will be improved in future releases.

    Version 0.2.1

    New Features

    • Clips now display the file name of their source files.
    • Clicking the waveform area of a clip now seeks the playhead, moving or resizing a clip can now be done via dragging the title of the clip.
    • The fade-in duration and the fade-out duration of a clip can now be adjusted.
    • Teapodo can now open older project files up to version 0.2, and this will remain to be the case unless specified otherwise.
    • An audio region can be selected on the tracks by pressing the Alt/Option key when dragging, a selected region can be copied, cut, or deleted.

    Known Issues

    • When the tracks are zoomed-in or out after selecting an audio region, the audio region's position may appear unstable. This will be fixed in the next release.

    Other Notes

    • The application can only run with a sample-rate of 44,100 Hz and a buffer-size of 256 samples, specifying sample-rate and buffer-size will be added in a future release.
      • This only affects the real-time playback, when exporting, both 44,100 Hz and 48,000 Hz can be used as sample rate.
    • Only 16-bit WAV files can be used for recording, support for other formats will be added in a future release.
    • At the moment, there is no mechanism for cleaning up the recording folder (i.e. ~/Music/Teapodo/Recordings/), this will be added in a future release.

    Version 0.2.0

    New Features

    • Waveform's accuracy at zoomed-out levels is greatly improved.
    • Tracks can now be renamed.
    • Clips can now be moved vertically between tracks.
    • The empty region (i.e. the "gap") between two clips can now be deleted via a context menu item.
    • A new mode is added so that the tracks visible area can follow the playhead during playback and recording.
    • Chapters are simplified. A chapter marker now only marks the start of a chapter, the end of a chapter will be inferred automatically.
    • A project can now be saved to a different location using "Save As…".
    • The application now shows an alert if any unsaved changes are about to be discarded, and those changes can be saved if needed.
    • A copy of the current project is now auto-saved periodically, if the application didn't exit normally, the copy can be used to recover unsaved changes.
      • Given a project at ~/Music/My Project.teapodo, the hidden autosave file will be at ~/Music/.My Project.teapodo.autosave.
      • A newly created (unsaved) project also has an autosave file, which can be found at ~/Library/Application Support/Teapodo/Auto Saves/.
    • The project can now be exported as either a WAV file or a MP3 file. A few other options (such as channel count and sample rate) are also available in the export window.
    • The application's version number is now displayed in the "About" window.

    Issues Fixed

    • During recording, certain operations (such as moving or resizing a clip) are now correctly blocked.

    Version 0.1.0

    Features

    • The default system input device can be used to record audio into an armed track.
      • The recordings are saved as 16-bit WAV files at ~/Music/Teapodo/Recordings/.
    • WAV files can be imported onto a track as audio clips.
    • Audio clips on each audio tracks can be split/moved/resized.
    • Up to 16 tracks can be played simultaneously using the default system output device.
      • If the source audio of a clip has a different sample-rate or bit-depth as the current output device, then the source audio is resampled in real-time.
